It is also to promote and disseminate new knowledge and research data for evidence-based care practices at all levels of nursing services. The Journal of Nursing Care Research deals with Fundamentals of Nursing, Internal Medicine Nursing, Surgical Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing, Child Health and Diseases Nursing, Mental Health and Diseases Nursing, Public Health Nursing and Management in Nursing and accepts articles on these topics.

YouTube as a source of information for mesalazine enema administration: a reliability and quality analysis
Aims: This study aimed to assess the reliability and quality of YouTube videos demonstrating mesalazine enema administration for patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
Methods: A cross-sectional content analysis was conducted on YouTube videos in March 2026 using a standardized search strategy with English keywords. The first 100 most-viewed videos for each keyword were screened. Duplicate videos, irrelevant content, advertisements, videos without audio, videos shorter than 30 seconds, and non-English videos were excluded. Video characteristics, including views, daily viewing rate, age, likes, comments, duration, uploader source, and Video Power Index, were recorded. Reliability and quality were evaluated independently by two researchers using DISCERN and the Global Quality Scale.
Results: A total of 181 videos were identified, of which 10 met the inclusion criteria. The overall DISCERN score was 2.60, indicating low-to-moderate reliability, and the overall GQS score was 3.30, indicating moderate quality. Videos uploaded by healthcare professionals had significantly higher DISCERN and GQS scores than those uploaded by non-healthcare professionals. A strong positive correlation was found between DISCERN and GQS scores. However, popularity-related metrics, including daily viewing rate, likes, comments, and video duration, were not significantly associated with reliability or quality.
Conclusion: YouTube videos on mesalazine enema administration are limited in number and only moderate in educational value. Videos uploaded by healthcare professionals appear more reliable and of higher quality, whereas popularity metrics do not distinguish trustworthy content. Professionally developed, patient-centered, and standardized educational videos are needed to support safe administration and treatment adherence.
